But which is true? Who is God?

“It’s like this: in some dilemmas there can be two statements that seem to contradict each other yet are both true. For example:

It could be that today it was raining in New York while it was a sunny day at the same time in Dallas. Yet sometimes two seemingly contradictory statements can be qualified; other times, they can’t. Saying “God thinks more highly of you than Himself” can’t be qualified with the statement that “God thinks most highly of God—no one else.” To say so just doesn’t measure-up. Here’s why:

Suppose we said that both statements were, in fact, true. In that case, it would be true that God thinks more highly of Himself than of anyone else. However, God also thinks more highly of you than He does of anyone else—including Himself. This can’t be. Both can’t coexist. It would be like saying, “Pike’s Peak is taller than Mt. Everest” while also saying “Mt. Everest is the tallest mountain in the world—there is no mountain that is taller than it”.

GW2: An Argument Against Balanced Classes W

hat does the term “balanced” mean, when it comes igxe coupon to classes? In most MMOGs, IMO, a “balanced” class means different things when it comes to PvE and PvP.

When you consider all of the variables – all of the variant dodge roll effects, the ability to generate combo fields, character foot speed in aiding in the evasion of MOB attacks and effects, quick revive skills, etc. – unless you just line up one class mano a mano against each other with players dedicated to perfecting those particular classes in PvP, how can anyone claim to have “balanced” anything?

It seems to me that ANET should just abandon the whole notion of “balancing” classes, free up the future for all kinds of new class variations, and just let the general population figure out what they prefer playing. Then, if very few people are playing a certain class, they might take a look at changing something – but, then again, why not have classes that few people enjoy? I think trying to accomplish an even spread of class choices is also a mistake – an attempt to homogenize class appeal. Even if a class is difficult to play, so what? Lots of people enjoy playing difficult-to-play classes.

It seems to me that the idea of a set of “balanced” classes is really only viable when the productivity of a character in a given PvE or PvP setting is essentially reducible to numbers in a formula. Given the structure of combat in GW2, I think that “class balance” should be an idea throw into the same garbage bin as the holy trinity.

 My mining grind pretty much picked up where it left off, spamming iron ore outside of copperbell mines. I did this right up until around level 21 until I decided to move on to elemental ores. This decision was in no small part aided by people crashing the iron market (asshats >.<).

The switch to these elemental rocks was horrific. I found that, even though they were obviously higher level items and therefore giving more xp per strike, the fact that the success rate was so much lower than iron ore led to me gaining much less xp overall, due to lack of chaining. It was at this point that I concluded that when gathering for xp you shouldn’t necessarily be going after the highest level nodes.

After grinding out to level 26 I then discovered that I could begin mining for crystals, this made me a very happy chappy as crystals sell for big bucks. Careful monitoring of the market can mean that you are earning upwards of 250 gil per crystal. I was more than happy to work towards 30 gathering and selling various types of crystals. Once 30 was attained I accepted my level 30 quest and set out for Camp Drybone
